• Physical factors : there are those factors that are caused due to some kind of physical ailment

• Anatomical deformity in genitals – sometimes there is malformation of the genitals hence there problem in erection.

• Consumption of alcohol and smoking – consuming alcohol and smoking can also lead to erectile dysfunction. As per ayurveda, alcohol is responsible for destroying all the vigor from the body and renders a person weak and fragile. The erection of the erectile muscle of the penis also gets disrupted.

As per ayurveda, a person who suffers from this disease has very low or no energy in his body causing the inability to produce the sperms leading to decrease in sexual activities. Moreover the body of obese person is not capable of bearing the stress of physical strain that is required to complete the act of sexual intercourse. One more reason is also there. The obese person is incapable of getting indulged in the sexual activity as his body interferes in accomplishing the act.

• Certain medication like anti-depressant pills – it has been found that certain medicines especially that of anti depressant are responsible for reducing the sexual vigor of a man. As it suppresses the sensation both emotionally as well as physically of the body thereby weakens the sexual stimulation mentally and causes erectile dysfunction physically.

• Certain diseases like hypertension, atherosclerosis, Parkinson disease diabetes and multiple sclerosis are also responsible for causing the condition of lack of sexual excitement and erectile dysfunction.
