This rich and creamy fruit is good to eat and good for hair too. Including it in your diet will not only keep you heart-healthy but will also improve your skin and hair as it contains vitamin A, C, E and K. Avocados make great hair masques for dull and brittle hair. It is particularly good for curly and thick hair. It helps lock moisture in thanks to its natural humectant properties.
Skin and deseed a ripe avocado. Scoop out the pale yellow pulp and mash it well. Mix in 3-4 tablespoons of olive oil if you have long hair. Apply it to your hair length. Leave on for 20 minutes. Use a mild shampoo to wash your hair. Rinse with cool water. Apply this terrific avocado hair masque once a week for healthy and shiny hair.
This is a homemade deep conditioning hair treatment that can be done once a week. You can add a little essential oil such as rosemary to the olive oil. Warm 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a small saucepan. Mix 2-3 drops of rosemary oil with the warm olive oil. Massage your hair and scalp with the oil. Wrap your hair in a damp towel and sit back for an hour. Shampoo and rinse your hair and leave it to air dry. Rosemary oil is said to strengthen the hair shaft.
Olive oil has emollient properties that makes it a natural moisturizing agent. It is particularly suitable for people with very dry hair. Do not heat the olive oil at high temperatures as this causes it to lose its nourishing properties. Merely warm it over a low flame before use.
Egg White Hair Masque
If you cringe at the idea of pouring an egg over your hair, don’t be put off by the smelly mess it makes. Eggs are excellent natural conditioners and add volume to the hair without causing any kind of reaction compared to the bottled hair conditioners at the supermarket. One egg will do if you have shoulder length hair. Use two if your hair reaches down to your waist. Separate the yolk from the egg whites in a small bowl and whisk them till stiff.
Add a tablespoon of water or yogurt and beat well. Apply the mixture to hair length avoiding the scalp. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave it on for at least 20 minutes. Rinse with water and then shampoo your hair. This masque is perfect for adding a healthy shine to dull hair.
This popular alcoholic beverage sitting in your refrigerator may be the answer to your hair woes. Beer imparts shine and gloss to dull and dry hair as it contains protein, vitamin B and minerals. If you have very dull hair, pour a little beer into a bottle and spray on after washing your hair. If the smell bothers you, try the next method. Stand in the shower and pour half-a-bottle of beer on your hair.
Leave it on for at least 7-8 minutes to seal in the proteins. Rinse thoroughly with tepid water. The smell will eventually go away and your hair will have a new healthy sheen added to it after the beer treatment.
Vinegar Hair Rinse

Use this vinegar rinse to cleanse and add shine to your hair. Mix 2 teaspoons of vinegar with 1/2 cup of water and gently apply it to your hair.
