ClonidineThough, this medication was originally recommended for high blood pressure, it can work on certain symptoms associated with menopause, like hot flashes and night sweats. However, to know its efficacy in your situation you need to take the medicine for at least two to four weeks.

If your condition does not improve it is recommended that you go back to your previous medication. This medicine can sometimes cause symptoms like dry mouth, depression, constipation, drowsiness and fluid retention among others.
